MILANI Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer Review

Phew, this product has such a long name. But let's get real, Milani is one of the best drugstore brand that you could find. Their products have been receiving many good feedbacks, and of course, the affordable price is a plus point. This foundie is actually my first Milani product, and sorry for spoiling, but I LOVE it! I know that the name of the product is too long, but this Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer is one of the drugstore foundations you need to get! This is called 2 in 1 foundation because it claims that it can work as a full coverage foundation plus concealer. Cool, uh? I decided to buy it after long hours of researching which drugstore foundie would work the best for my weird oily skin. I also have been using this for few weeks so I'm pretty sure it's safe to blog about this. This review will be the first review written in English, please keep in mind that English is not my first language. Let's just get started, shall we? ;)

PACKAGING

Milani 2-in-1 Foundation (let's just shorten the name, ok?) has a sturdy glass bottle package with a pump that makes it easier for us to get the exact amount of product. The pump is working fine so far and I have no problem with it. It also has a cap so it's safe for traveling. Actually, the packaging looks so decent, it also doesn't look cheap. You can see the color of your shade but it doesn't really show the real color. Mine is in shade 05 Warm Beige which is light-to-medium warm tone but on the bottle it looks a bit darker than it's supposed to be. Be careful if you want to buy it online, because the color on the packaging doesn't really look like the real colors. At the back you will find the claim of this foundation, the directions, and the ingredients.

PRODUCT

The foundation claims to be lightweight, oil-free formula, longwearing, water-resistant, sweat-proof, and can be build up to full coverage. I personally think that this foundation is amazing for its coverage. Just one pump of the product and it can cover the dullness, redness, hyper pigmentation, and some acne scars. It also blurs some imperfections. My skin looks even and I'm very satisfied with it! It doesn't cover much of dark circles and very dark acne scars, though. I still need a concealer to brighten my under eye. It doesn't feel heavy, but a bit sticky. Especially when you just put them on your face. I really recommend you to set your whole face with a translucent powder or any kind of powder you like. Milani 2-in-1 Foundation has a strong scent, which I'm not sure what it is. It smells a bit sweet? Chemical? It's not really a big deal for me because the smell would fade away gradually. The texture is really thick!  You have to blend it well with either sponge or brush. I prefer using brush because it really gives you such a pretty full coverage without putting so much product on your face. The finish is more like satin? Velvet? I really don't know what to call it. LOL. But it's definitely not matte, and it's not dewy either. Milani 2-in-1 Foundation also has lots of shades you can choose from lighter skin to darker ones. Many reviews state that this foundation has a strong yellow undertone and I kinda agree with that. If you have a cool undertone, you might want to choose it more carefully.

STAYING POWER

Is Milani 2-in-1 Foundation longwearing like it claims to be? I think so! What makes this foundation stays good even after using it for more than 7 hours is because it really has a good oil-control. I don't understand about the fuss of this foundation makes your skin greasy or oily because it works really great on me! I have an oily skin and usually no matter how matte my foundie & powder are, it will start getting oily after 2-3 hours. However, with this foundation I can wear it up until 4-5 hours before blotting my face. And surprisingly, the amount of oil on my blotting paper is not that ridiculous! As for the water-resistant part, I have tried using this foundie then I do wudhu, and my makeup still looks great. Please take a note that I only splash a normal amount of water, I also don't rub my face. I'm not sure how it goes with swimming, though. And I don't sweat a lot so I'm not really sure about the sweat-proof part. It can get a bit cakey so please always set your foundation with translucent powder to avoid some cakey and flaky patches.

I bought this foundation from belanjamimo.com for Rp 155.000 or around USD 11.8. I found this still affordable and worthy!

VERDICT
+ Does almost everything it claims to be
+ Full coverage without feeling heavy on the skin
+ The oil control is great even though it's not matte finish
+ Affordable
+ Great packaging, even for travelling
+ Many shades available especially for Indonesians
- It doesn't work best as a concealer
- Very thick and a bit sticky
- Has a weird smell but still acceptable
- Can get cakey if you don't set it with powder
Repurchase? I'm not sure yet because I really don't plan using a full coverage foundation for daily wear.
